Comprehensive Aesthetic Restorative Effort
A breakthrough symposium on Friday, July 8th, 2011 from 8.00:am - 12.00:pm at the Naval Medical Center San Diego for The Unified C.A.R.E. Initiative 2011 (Comprehensive Aesthetic Restorative Effort), an unprecedented United States Navy, nationwide military/civilian, public-private initiative founded by CAPT. (Dr.) Craig Salt to
advance surgical and non-surgical aesthetic therapies, reconstructive surgery and comprehensive support services to the wounded warriors of all Military Services.
The Foundation symbolizes a grateful nation and is a proud participant in this remarkable effort. Since its inception, The Foundation’s War Injuries Initiative has embodied a national priority best articulated by the President last year to marshal the very best our nation has to offer in providing unprecedented support to our wounded warriors.
The symposium will address solutions, current critical topics and breakthrough procedures of benefit to both military and civilian medicine from distinguished volunteer member speakers:
• Dr. Bohdan Pomahac, the Harvard plastic surgeon who achieved a breakthrough in medical science utilizing a grant from the
DoD when he led the team that performed the first full face transplant in the United States earlier this year in March
• Dr. Julian Pribaz, a leading edge facial reconstruction plastic surgeon from Harvard and former program director of the Combined
Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program, which is the largest training program in the United States
• Dr. Alexander Shin, a former Navy surgeon and nationally renowned orthopedic surgeon in skeletal reconstruction from the Mayo
